On Trend Outfit for Fall!

Hey girls!

Today I have a post on a on-trend outfit for Fall. You might remember when I talked about this website: Polyvore. I actually created this particular outfit on Polyvore, which I hope you guys will like!

Some of the fall trends I love, some I dislike. I only put in fall trends that I really like because I don't want to recommend trends that I'm not absolutely in love with! Click here to figure out YOUR fall style.

The shirt is from chicnova.com and is available for $15! That is an amazing price for a denim shirt - especially because they are SO in for fall. They're really comfortable and cute as well. The jeans I picked for this outfit are on trend because of the color. One of the popular colors for fall is "Oxblood" or deep berry/blood-red kind of colors. Usually oxblood is a little darker, but I wanted to pick a pair of pants that were inexpensive to show, and these were one of the few inexpensive pairs I found. These pants retail for $16 and you can purchase them from fashionunion.com. The shoes are probably my favorite part of the outfit. They are a deep chocolate brown color, and have the cute laces as well. These oxfords are $44 and from dorothyperkins.com. Oxfords aren't typically a trend, but are cute for really any season. (You could also opt for a pair of dark brown boots as well). The ring I chose for this outfit is a pewter color; a detailed wrap-around leaf ring - perfect for the fall time. This ring is from modcloth.com, retailing for $12. To top this on-trend outfit for fall off, I chose these brushed-gold earrings. They are a beautiful golden color, perfect for autumn. I LOVE leaf earrings right now, so I was super excited to find them for only $11 from republic.co.uk.

What trends are you going to be sporting for the fall time?

What's on my Wish List? MAC Showgirl Eyeshadow - FT. NEW MARILYN MONROE COLLECTION!

Hey girls!

I have a super exciting blog post for you all today! This post concerns the new Marilyn Monroe collection from MAC. There is SO much hype about this collection, and I was one of the super excited people as well (as much as I hate to admit haha). MakeupbyTiffanyD actually just did a blog post about this collection so click here to read all about that. I found that blog post very helpful and informative about the newest collection from MAC!

So, the one product from this collection that I am just in LOVE with and cannot wait to check out is the "Showgirl" eyeshadow. This is a great color for fall and winter. It's a beautiful sparkly baby, powder blue and I don't have enough good things to say about it!

It's SO pretty, and I am just at a loss for words. It would be an awesome shadow to use as an eyeliner on the lower-lash line for a pop of color (which would be great for summer or if you're uncomfortable with color on your lids!)

I'm going to try my BEST to get to MAC this weekend and pick this shadow up - It'll be my lucky day if it's not sold out (which I'm hoping and praying it isn't, but probably will be haha)

So, that's the most current product on my wish list, and if the shadow ends up being available at MAC, will make sure to feature it in a video or blog post soon!

Are you going to pick up anything from the Marilyn Monroe collection? If so, what?

What's YOUR Fall Style?

Hey everyone!

I came across this quiz online the other day online and I really liked the idea of it. I even did the quiz myself!

My results were: "You take everything with a grain of salt and don’t buy into all the hype. You’ll probably incorporate some of this fall’s fashions into your existing wardrobe of classics, such as a pair of chain-covered booties or a leather jacket."

I really like some of the fall trends, but I'm not going to splurge on all of them (some I don't even like!) So, if it's really trendy and I absolutely LOVE it, I will probably cave in and buy it anyway. ;) This way, you can save money by not buying all the trends, but maybe buying a few that will possibly still be "in" next year and that you are really loving.

See the quiz at Find your signature fall style

What's your fall style?

Rave Review! Lush's Ocean Salt!

Hey girls!

Here's a quick review for you all. Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I really DO plan to post and update more regularly, even if that means pre-writing a few posts on the weekend (I pre-record for videos, so I could probably do that for blog posts, too!) Anyway, sorry again!

So, today I have a review for you all on the Lush "Ocean Salt".  Here is the blurb that they have on the website for the product if you are interested:

COCONUT CREAM AND SEA SALT SCRUB

Back in 2005, our inventors had come up with a number of fantastic cleansers but there was one category they had yet to conquer: The scrub! A sea salt scrub! With that, they whipped up (our now enormously popular) Ocean Salt. Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, while the antibacterial effects of lime and vodka is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt and blockages.
I absolutely LOVE Ocean Salt from Lush! In fact, it's one of their most popular skincare products! So many of my friends have and use this product - I haven't met one person who says they don't like it.

It's nice for exfoliating your skin (you can use it on your face and on your body; I mostly use it on my face and legs). When you exfoliate your skin, it really refreshens and clears your skin of all the gunk and dirt.

As you can see by the picture above, Ocean Salt literally looks like ocean salt! Actually, in the product, there is sea salt, which is really interesting.

There are two sizes of Lush's Ocean Salt: A Large, which is $34.95 and a Small, which is $19.99.
I tend to get the large size, just because I usually share this product with my sister (we share a bathroom and use a LOT of the same makeup and skincare products) so we sometimes split the cost and share the product equally.

Have any of you used Lush's "Ocean Salt"? Do you like or dislike it?

Blair

Nail of the Day! - Sally Hansen "Pacific Blue"

Hey girls!

I have a quick Nail of the Day post for you all! The other day, I painted my nails this beautiful blue color, which is extremely talked about on YouTube. This nail polish is by Sally Hansen in the color "Pacific Blue".
I now understand why gurus on YouTube raved about this nail polish! It is so beautiful! Below is a picture of this nail polish on my actual nails:

Again, this color is super pretty, and is an awesome color for fall. I think this polish would look awesome with a tan.

I got this nail polish from CVS and I am completely in love with it! It was $3.99, so it was super inexpensive for an amazing, good quality polish!

Do any of you have this polish? Let me know!

What's on my Wish-list? Nars "Laguna" Bronzer!

Hey girls!

I know I haven't put up a blog post in a while, but that's because I've been so busy with school and getting organized (post coming up soon on school/locker organization, BTW).

But, I just wanted to update you guys quickly about something that has been on my makeup wish-list for the past few days. This bronzer has been talked about so much amongst the YouTube beauty gurus for the past couple of years - I just never thought to pick this particular product up!

There's what the product looks like, if you were wondering. Nars "Laguna" bronzer is around $34, so it's not that expensive, especially for the fact that Nars in generally is a pretty expensive brand.

I am so excited to go to Neiman Marcus and pick this product up! I have been lusting over it for a few days now, and I seriously can't wait until tomorrow when I am able to get it. I will definitely make sure to do a review on blog about how great this product is!

Again, sorry for not updating this blog very often, but I hope to do some more fun posts soon!

Love you all! <3

First Day of School Outfit - Casual!

Hey girls!

About a year ago, I came across this cool fashion website called Polyvore. On this website, you can design different outfits (you can even add accessories and nail polish) and even buy the pieces that you used to create the outfit on online stores and websites.

Here is an outfit that I created a few days ago that I think would be a super cute outfit to wear to school!
This is a casual outfit, but I can do more of these Polyvore outfit posts and make fancy ones, edgy ones, really girly ones - any kind of outfit you guys would enjoy to see a post on!

Here is the list of where you can get the outfit pieces and prices:

Shirt – shoptaintedkiss.com ($12)

Jeans – glamorousus.com ($31)

Shoes – maurices.com ($26)

Ring – gojane.com ($9.20)

Earrings – bodyc.com ($3.90)

Here is my Polyvore page in case you guys want to make your own Polyvore account and follow me!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know if you want more outfit ideas like this (school related or not).

Are you watching my Back to School videos?

Hey everyone!

Recently, I have started filming my Back to School series.

So far, I have done a "What to Keep in Your School Beauty Bag" video. Click here to see that. Basically I show you all the necessities and important beauty/makeup favorites to keep in my beauty bag for school.

Also, I filmed a haul because I know everyone LOVES hauls (especially me!) so that's why I decided to show you all in a video some of the new clothes I purchased recently. Click here to see that. If you are interested in knowing where I got my new clothes, you can check the description box below the video to see the stores and prices (in order of appearance in video) of all my new clothing.

Last, but not least, I did an easy school makeup tutorial; click here to see that. I used mostly high-end products, so let me know in the comments on that video or on the comments of that post if you all would like an all-drugstore makeup tutorial. I understand that many of you may not want to spend all your money on expensive makeup products, so again just let me know if any of you would like to see that video!

That's all for this blog post; I just wanted to do a quick re-cap of the videos I recently uploaded to my channel that had to do with the "Back to School" Theme. Let me know if you guys want any specific videos for me to film and upload!

Thank you WidgetBox!

Hey everyone,

Basically, just wanted to make a quick blog post (I know... like my third one today, crazy) to thank the company that made my two little widgets for Twitter and YouTube on the side of my blog.

And before I get on with this post, I just wanted to say really quickly that WidgetBox is NOT compensating (paying) me to write this post, I decided to do this on my own. They kindly made the widgets for me and than I decided to write this to thank them for supplying me with the widgets.

Anyway, WidgetBox is basically a really cool website where you can make awesome widgets (like the YouTube and Twitter ones) quickly and easily. They have simple directions to make your blog or website shine.

There are many widgets you can make, but you can also customize your own. They have games, apps, Twitter and YouTube (as well as other website) feeds that you can easily install into your blog or website that look really cool.

You can sign up free on WidgetBox (there is a pro option that costs money, but there is also the free one -- the pro option just gives you some more widgets and designs, but it doesn't necessarily hold you back from anything major) and start designing your widgets, also free, and making your blog or website unique and one-of-a-kind!

Click here to check out and sign up for Widget Box. Again, thank you to the company who designed my two widgets here on my blog!

Miley's New 'Do!

Hey girls!

I follow Miley Cyrus on twitter, so of course when she was tweeting about her new haircut (along with some pictures!) I knew I had to make a blog post about it.
Here are a few pictures that she tweeted out:
First off, I just want to say that I don't really have an opinion on her new hairdo, just because I love Miley Cyrus, and I've been a big fan even since her early Hannah Montana days back in 2006 (long time, I know!) Also, apparently Miley donated her locks to a Cancer foundation, and you can't really hate on a person for donating to Cancer (especially if you don't know her).

I actually think that this pixie cut look suits her. It's kind of girlie rock, which is also what I think inspires her clothing and accessory choices (I absolutely L.O.V.E. her style!) <3

Anyway, what do you all think about Miley's new 'do? Love or hate?

Also, funny random thing - there's a Twitter account by the name of Miley'sBun which just has really funny tweets about Miley's Bun (you really just have to read them to know what I'm talking about) and if you want to take a look at that, click here.

So, that's it for now... hope you all enjoyed this blogpost and I'll write more soon!

Beauty Talk - Polyvore!

Hey guys!

I just wanted to do a quick post about a website that I found a few months ago called Polyvore.
This is a fabulous fashion website where you can basically find pieces (clothes, accessories, nail polish, makeup) and pair it all together to make an outfit. Then, if you want to purchase any of the items from your set (that's what it's called when you make an outfit) you can click on the link of the fashion item and purchase it online if you want!

Sign-up is free, so make sure if you are interested in Polyvore that you check it out!

New Lush Products!

Hey girls!

I wanted to quickly mention a few things I got from Lush recently. Since I only got two things, I couldn't do a haul :(

Anyway, the first item I got was the Yuzu and Cocoa Bubble Bar. Since I haven't tried any of the products out yet, I can't really give a good review, but I am happy to say I can tell you how amazingly delicious they smell!

Basically, you plop a piece of a bubble bar in your bath and in seconds it will dissolve and make your water heaven (seriously!). The bubble bars from Lush make your water silky smooth and extremely moisturizing. I've tried out some other bubble bars from Lush before, so I know how they work (just haven't tried out this one just yet.)

The smell of the Yuzu and Cocoa Bubble bar is a strong citrus scent with a wash of chocolate over it. It actually took me awhile to get used to this scent before I bought it, so I would't recommend purchasing this particular bubble bar online, but rather going to a Lush store in person and smelling the bubble bar for yourself.

The Yuzu and Cocoa Bubble Bar was $5.95 and I'm super duper excited to try it!

Alright, enough about that! The next product that I have yet to try is the Butterball Bath Bomb.
My interpretation of the scent is a very sweet, bakery vanilla scent. If you are interested here's the scent description given on the website about this product:

"BEAUTIFUL BUTTER CREAM HYDRATION FOR DRY SKIN

Our vanilla-scented Bath Bomb is anything but boring when you lay back into a cozy white blanket of creamy buttery froth. This little fizzer is the ultimate in comfort with chunks of creamy cocoa butter; it’s fantastic for rehydrating dry skin. Baths can dry your skin if they’re too hot, so if you’re in need of a long, lingering bath pop one of these gorgeous beauties into the tub for a vanilla custard soak to lull you into a deep relaxed state – and leave with sweeter, softer skin."

So, I'm also very excited to try out this bath bomb. I have tried Lush Bath Bombs before, and I'm very impressed by them! This particular bath bomb was $4.95 and I absolutely LOVE the smell!

I hope you guys liked my review of these two Lush Products, and definitely make sure to check out the website if you're interested in the products mentioned in the blog post or if you want to check out any other products on the Lush site. If you would be interested, I could do a blog post on my favorite products from Lush, so let me know in the comments of this post if you would like to see a blog post like that!

Organize Your Life - Setting and Accomplishing Short-Term Goals!

Hey girls!

I know, (at least for me), that setting and accomplishing short-term goals are challenging. Here are some steps I use to accomplish my goals and basically everything I need to get done:

1. Organize.
First, I like to collect my thoughts and put my thoughts down on paper or on a list on my iPod touch or laptop. Usually I think about what things I need to get done and then write/type that down.

2. Tackle.
After organizing my thoughts, I think about what task I would like to get done first. Usually I start with the more challenging stuff first, than move on to the easier stuff. Sometimes, it's helpful to number what I want to do in the order I want to do it.
Example:
Clean room - 4
Wash dishes - 3
Do homework - 1
Practice guitar - 2
Buy Dad a present - 5

3. Follow through.
After organizing my thoughts, thinking about what tasks I need to get done, how and when I'll do them, follow through with that plan! Get your goals accomplished, chores completed, and even fit in time for your friends!

Hope you guys enjoyed this blog post - let me know if you are interested in more of these 'Organizing Your Life' posts!

Have a great day!

DIY: Yogurt Face Mask!

Hello lovelies,

Today's blog post consists of a DIY Face Mask that you can make with.... Spoiled yogurt! That's right, spoiled yogurt! If your yogurt has expired a few days ago, don't trash it! Turn your spoiled dairy into a luxurious face mask using:

a cup of your favorite yogurt (spoiled, of course)
a tablespoon of honey
a few slices of cut up cucumber

What to do:
Mix the yogurt and honey together and spread all over your face. Coat a little of the mixed substance on one side of the cucumber and place on your eyes for a refreshing and relaxing face mask.

2. Press the exposed filling into a plate of sprinkles (especially red, white, and blue ones!)
3. To keep mess to a minimum, serve the pops in cupcake liners.

This is a really simply recipe, and one that is certainly delicious!

B&BW Lotion Favorites of the Moment!

Hey girls!
I wanted to make a really quick post about two scents I kind of re-discovered when I took a trip to Bath and Body Works last week (I also filmed a haul.)
So, I really wanted to focus on the two Signature Vanillas lotions that I purchased from Bath and Body Works' Semi-Annual Sale, so make sure to go check that out before it ends!

The picture above is of the Berry Signature Vanillas Body Lotion, which has a very strong berry scent and just a small wash of vanilla over the berry. It's a very nice lotion for summer because fruity scents are definitely in for summer, so this berry lotion will be amazing for summertime, and this is one that I will always be wearing!

The other Signature Vanillas lotion I purchased from Bath and Body Works is the Apricot flavored lotion. While the Berry SV lotion overpowers the vanilla scent with a strong berry one, it is the opposite  for this Apricot SV lotion. The vanilla scent really comes out for this lotion, and it has a very light citrus scent with a very nice wash of vanilla over it. It's definitely more of a springtime scent in my opinion, but I love it just as much!
Unrelated: The color of the bottle reminds me of a cremsicle. :D

I  hope to do these quick little review blog posts on some of my favorite products that I don't necessarily want to/have to make a whole video about... it just saves time for everyone!

Favorite Music of the Moment!

Hey girls!
I thought a list of my 5 favorite songs at the time would be a fun blog post to write!
1. Fix a Heart by Demi Lovato
2. Stay by Miley Cyrus
3. Every Rose Has It's Thorn by Miley Cyrus
4. Stupid "girl" by Nicki Minaj
5. Wild Ones by Flo Rida ft. Sia

So, I'm totally loving some slower songs, and then some of my Favorites are rap... I'm bi-polar when it comes to music LOL.

What music have you girls been listening to?

A Quick Update!

Hey girls!

So, I'm actually in Italy right now, but there turned out to be Internet connection, so of course I took advantage of that and decided to write this quick blog post while a had a little down time. How are you all? The flight over here was quite long, but now I'm recovering from my jet lag LOL. Most of you know this already, but there will not be any videos up this week - first of all, I didn't even bring my computer (I didn't really think I needed to) but I did bring my iPod touch, so I still it the Internet connection. I intentionally didn't bring my computer because I didn't want to be attached to it (it is a vacation of course, so I want to relax and have fun with my friends and family) but since I have my iPod I can still do a couple (not a ton!) of blog posts this week because it's really easy to use the Blogger App on my iPod and also tweet sometimes to let you all know what I've been up to!
So, just wanted to let you all know of you were wondering where I'll be all week and you wouldn't be confused when there were no videos up... :)

Have a great week everyone!

Blair

Nail of the Day - Times Square by NYC

Hey girls!
Today, I wanted to show you my nails and do a bit of a review on these NYC In a Minute - Quick Dry Nail Polish. I picked three polishes out and yesterday I painted them (and took the pictures, I'm actually in Boston right now!) this beautiful ruby, red polish.
As you can see, it's a super glossy polish, and it was very easy to apply - no streakiness, no thickness, and the brush was a good size (and not colossal like some brushes!)

These polishes claim to be "In a Minute Quick Dry" and they are... half-telling the truth! This polish doesn't dry in a minute... but it does dry in a very fast period of time: Approximately 3 minutes. So, even though the polish does't dry in the exact amount that it claims, it does dry very quickly and without hassle! I cannot wait to pick up more of these quick drying polishes!
I actually already have three:
This red one: Times Square by NYC
A grey one: Sidewalkers by NYC
A magenta one: Mo-Ma by NYC

Next time you take a trip to the drugstore, make sure to pick up a few of the NYC Quick Drying Nail Polishes! They retail for $1, which is an awesome price for a very quick drying polish!

Have you ever tried these NYC Quick Drying Polishes? If so, did you think they were good quality and would you use them again?

Kiss Nail Polish Strips Review!

Hey girls!
For my first official blog post, I wanted to do a review on a product. This product is fairly new in drugstores, and I got my Kiss Nail Polish Strips in CVS a few weeks ago. The design that I got was a leopard print (super cute!).

The Kiss Nail Dress stickers come with 28 nail stickers and a small nail file. You take a sticker and apply it onto your nail, and after it's applied, file it down with the attached nail file. You can shape it to your nail perfectly, and VOILA! A perfect "manicure"! On your nails, these nail stickers last for about 10 days, just depending on how careful you are with your nails.
TIP: Put on a coat or two of any nail top coat right after you apply the stickers, and maybe 3-4 days after you apply them to make them appear shiny, and also to allow the sticker to better stay on your nail and not chip.

These Nail Dress stickers can be compared to the Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips (priced at roughly $10) while these nail stickers are only $6.99 (at my local CVS and Walgreens)

There is a slight price differentiation, and for the $4 difference, I would definitely go with the Kiss Nail Dress stickers. These Kiss nail stickers and the Sally Hansen nail stickers are basically the same quality, so if I were on a tight budget or just wanted to spend a less amount of money, I would definitely go with these!

The Sally Hansen Nail Stickers are good, too, and I have tried them before! But, again, if I wanted to spend less money, I would most definitely purchase the Kiss Nail Dress stickers.

I hope you all enjoyed my review, and make sure to try out the Kiss Nail Dress stickers for that perfect "manicure"!

xoxo,
Blair
